This is for maternity cover in our Early Years class of 16 children, working full time alongside an experienced class teacher. We are seeking to appoint a Maintenance Technician to work at various locations across our 17 school Multi-Academy Trust, currently within a 10-mile radius of Radstock. Your working days and hours will be agreed upon appointment but you will need to be available both within and outside of school hours over three days each week.

We are a growing Multi-Academy Trust with a fantastic team of staff. Our sites range from Victorian primary school buildings to Modern, purpose-built facilities and include 2 special schools, one of which is residential.

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to work across our schools who, ideally, has experience of working in a school setting and is able to complete a variety of different maintenance work which could include carpentry, decorating, minor plumbing and general building. You will be responsible for minor planned and reactive maintenance work and statutory compliance checks to keep our schools in a safe and satisfactory condition. Training will be provided to ensure competence in the monitoring and implementation of Health & Safety regulations.

The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, effective communicator who takes pride in their work and will be able to manage a varied workload whilst reacting to priority issues quickly. Basic computer skills will be required to aid the organisation and management of workload, communication with school contacts and completion of job sheets.

A current, clean driving licence is essential and you will need to travel between schools using your own transport (Travel expenses will be reimbursed if using own vehicle).

We are ideally looking for people who are flexible and able to cover  from 8.40am to 3.15 pm and who preferably could come in to cover sickness if called from 8 am.

If you are willing to do cover for both Teacher and TA please indicate this on your form.

Please note, we cannot guarantee a set amount of cover per week, although in general those on the supply list have been utilised on a regular basis.

For teaching assistants, we require the minimum qualifications of 3 GCSEs of A-C grades, 2 of which are English or Maths for supply applications. If you do not have these qualifications, we will be unable to process your request. You will be asked to provide the original certificates of the qualifications you hold, when you apply.

For teachers, you are required to hold a teaching qualification and again, you will be asked to provide the original certificates of the qualifications you hold.  If you are unable to do so, we will not be able to process your request.
