Record‑breaking year as Moorlands young footballers secure FIVE major victories

Young footballers from Moorlands Schools Federation in Bath have outshone England’s World Cup performance, by achieving five footballing awards this academic year.

 The mixed football team won the Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES) Cup on Monday 6 July following a 2-1 victory against Weston All Saints Primary School.  The team had already been crowned champions in the B&NES Invitational League earlier in the team.

Their “Double” win was a record for the school. Having won the Cup twice since 2019, this was the first time they also won it in the same season as coming top of the league. Earlier this year, the Year 3 and 4 also footballers won the B&NES and District Year 3/4 competition, adding to the silverware.

 Having already been crowned County Champions on Saturday 24 January, the Moorlands’ girls’ team secured a final win when they secured the B&NES Plate on Thursday 16 July following a 2-0 victory against Combe Down Primary School.
