£12.47 per hour (BANES Grade 5)
Casual Contract
3pm-9pm or 3pm-10.30pm (Sickness Cover Only)

We are seeking to appoint a Residential Education Officer to work at Fosse Way School, a residential special school for children aged 4-19, who have an Education, Health and Care plan. This role will be based in Fosse Way House where up to eleven students aged 12-19 live from Monday to Friday during term time.

We are looking for people who would be placed on the bank staff to cover shifts in the event of staff sickness in Fosse Way House, the residential provision of the school. Hours will be from either 3pm-9pm or 3pm-10.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and will involve supporting students throughout the evening with planned activities and the development of their independence skills. You will be required to work as part of a team with one or two other members of staff throughout your shift to provide adequate supervision to all students. Duties include ensuring the students are safe, are able to access some off-site activities, help with meal preparation and provide some personal care support (training can be provided).

Applicants from specialist or mainstream settings are encouraged. The position will be an excellent opportunity for colleagues looking for a new challenge. Previous experience of working in a special school is an advantage although training will be provided.
