School Office Manager/PA Application Pack

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and dynamic School Office Manager, who will also PA to the Executive Principal and Senior Leadership Team of The Mendip School, working as part of a team at a highly successful special school and within The Bath and Mendip Partnership Trust.

Required as soon as possible, a person to manage and work in a friendly, busy office. The role will include PA duties as required by the Executive Principal and SLT, supporting and leading the office team, including managing workload distribution. The role also includes reception duties and general administrative support for the staff in a special needs school.

Overall, this is a varied and busy role which will offer many different challenges and opportunities to learn and be involved with different initiatives.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, ICT and interpersonal skills, superb administrative skills, experience of managing staff would also be beneficial. Most of all, you will have a “can do” approach, be very organised and used to working with deadlines, have buckets of initiative and be prepared to learn new things.

Moorlands Schools Federation comprises of an Infant and Junior School which share a beautiful green campus and fantastic facilities in the city of Bath.  We are looking to recruit a well-qualified and passionate individual who has HLTA status under the national TTA scheme for HLTA assessment or equivalent.  This is a varied and interesting role working across both out infant and junior schools.   You will be working with an enthusiastic team of teachers and support staff, helping our children achieve their very best.

Key duties of the post include:

  • Providing support for inclusion of children with English and an additional language, SEND or who are underachieving.  You will be working with individuals, small groups or classes and acting as a mentor between home and school.
  • Supporting our Learning Support Assistants in planning and delivering interventions
  • Providing class cover for teacher release.
  • Contribute in effectively to the planning and preparation of lessons and undertake the

HLTA’s role in these including selection and preparation of students’ learning activities.

An ability to work as part of a team and experience of working with young people in a school or education environment is essential.

In the first instance, this post is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2019, pending budget review.

If you are interested in being put on our supply Teacher or Teaching Assistant/Male Teaching Assistant list please email the school office address with details of your experience.

A meeting will then be arranged with the Head Of School.

We are ideally looking for people who are flexible and able to cover  from 8.40am to 3.15 pm and who preferably could come in to cover sickness if called from 8 am.

It would be very useful when a time is arranged to meet the Head of School if  the  application form below is completed and brought with you along with the DBS evidence described as this would speed the turn around time for clearing a person to join our supply list considerably.

If you are willing to do cover for both Teacher and TA please indicate this on your form.

Please note, we cannot guarantee a set amount of cover per week, although in general those on the supply list have been utilised on a regular basis.

For teaching assistants, we require the minimum qualifications of 3 GCSE’s of A-C grades, 2 of which are English or Maths for supply applications. If you do not have these qualifications, we will be unable to process your request. You will be asked to provide the original certificates of the qualifications you hold, when you apply.

For teachers, you are required to hold a teaching qualification and again, you will be asked to provide the original certificates of the qualifications you hold.  If you are unable to do so, we will not be able to process your request.
